Content Guidelines
Community Standards
At SPIRAL, we're committed to fostering a creative and supportive environment where writers can explore their imagination. To ensure our platform remains a positive space for everyone, we've established the following content guidelines.
1. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not permitted on SPIRAL:
- Content that promotes hate speech, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups
- Sexually explicit material that is pornographic in nature
- Content that glorifies or encourages self-harm or suicide
- Content that harasses, bullies, or threatens others
- Content that infringes on copyright or intellectual property rights
- Content containing private or personal information about individuals without their consent
2. Creative Freedom
We value creative expression and understand that storytelling often explores complex themes. The following types of content are allowed but should be handled responsibly:
- Mature themes such as violence, conflict, or tragedy when presented in a thoughtful manner
- Political or controversial topics when approached with nuance and respect
- Content that challenges prevailing views or explores difficult subjects
3. Age-Appropriate Content
SPIRAL is designed for users of varied maturity levels, although to be safe, users must be at least 18 to sign up. If your content deals with mature themes:
- Use appropriate content warnings
- Indicate the target age group in your story description
- Keep explicit details to a minimum when discussing sensitive subjects
4. AI-Generated Content Ethics
When using SPIRAL's AI features, please:
- Use the tools to enhance your creativity, not to generate harmful or prohibited content
- Review AI-generated content before publishing to ensure it adheres to our guidelines
- Take responsibility for all content published under your name, even if AI-assisted
5. Reporting and Moderation
Our content moderation team works to maintain these standards through:
- User-initiated reports of content that violates our guidelines
- Algorithmic detection of potentially problematic content
- Manual review of flagged stories
We strive to be fair and transparent in our moderation decisions. If your content is removed, you'll receive a notification explaining why.
6. Appeals Process
If you believe your content was incorrectly flagged or removed, you may appeal the decision by contacting our moderation team with details about your content and why you believe it adheres to our guidelines.
